Refurbished Mini Fridge
So, I inherited literally the most HIDEOUS mini fridge from my sister. I am not kidding, when we lived together and ACTUALLY used it we hid it in a closet so that it would not be seen. BUT NOW IT IS GLORIOUS.
I forgot to do a before picture, so I had to find a similar fridge off of Google. I literally could not find one that was quite as ugly as ours. But here is somewhat what it looked like: |
Now, maybe you understand why we hid it in a closet...
Poopy 70's brown is not cute. BUT that gave me an opportunity to make it cute. I started with: - Poopy brown mini fridge - 123 primer ($5 at Walmart) - A cute Minty Blue Flat Interior paint that I used to paint my room previously. - Semi- Gloss white paint. - Two brushes 1 large, 1 small - Polka dotted paper - A DAY OFF I dusted/ cleaned the surface of the fridge and then added 2 coats of primer. This primer dries really fast so it's awesome. Just make sure that there aren't any clumps or drips. Because you do two coats you can apply it pretty thin to make sure that it is smooth. primer itself is more tacky than paint, so try not to continuously go over places you've already done. After the primer is dry, it's time to add the paint. Obviously you can do any color. I used one I had used for other projects and a white semi-gloss paint my parents had lying around. I painted the door the blue and the sides white. Again, keeping the coats thin and doing a few different coats. I had to do more coats of the white than the mint. Here's what it looked like at this point. |
SO much better. Literally I was already in love with it. I had painted over the logo on the handle, and I thought it looked kinda weird, so I dug through my boxes of special papers and things and found one that was black with white Polka dots, cut it to size, and VOILA! I am in love. AND it goes perfectly in my room. <3
